Real stories from real people who found healing

"Dr. Gina is amazing!! She really takes the time to listen to her patients and has so much knowledge about acupuncture and all of the other treatments that she offers. I completely trust her and it's not always easy to find someone in this field that is not only smart but also kind and empathetic! She is the real deal."

F.J.

Schaumburg, IL

"I was very skeptical about acupuncture. However, I was desperate for anything that could help my insomnia. After only ONE week of 2 sessions I was sleeping through the entire night. I could not believe that after 6 months with no sleep, I was finally able to get some actual rest. 2 years later I have not had any sleep issues."

"I'm in my seventies, so the aches and pains are abundant. Since I do not like popping a pill at all, I had to find a way to feel better. Dr. Gina is very sweet and has helped me with my pain. She has even recommended a product that works. I would highly recommend her!"

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about acupuncture

What conditions can acupuncture treat?

The World Health Organization recognizes acupuncture for a wide range of conditions including chronic pain (back, neck, joints, sciatica), headaches and migraines, stress and anxiety, digestive disorders (IBS, bloating, nausea), fertility and pregnancy support, insomnia, fatigue, allergies, and respiratory conditions. During your consultation, we'll discuss how acupuncture can specifically help your concerns.

Does acupuncture hurt?

Acupuncture is typically not painful. The needles are hair-thin — much finer than needles used for injections. Some acupuncture points are more sensitive and may elicit a fleeting subtle pinch, but most patients find the treatment deeply relaxing. Once all the needles are in, most patients feel calm and often fall asleep on the table.

Is acupuncture safe?

When performed by a licensed and trained practitioner, acupuncture is a very safe, non-pharmacological approach to treating many acute and chronic conditions. We use sterile, single-use needles and follow strict safety protocols. Side effects are minimal — most people leave their session feeling very relaxed and focused.

What should I expect at my first appointment?

Your practitioner will take a complete health history and evaluate the condition you are seeking treatment for. Next, the practitioner will feel your pulse, look at your tongue, and may palpate specific body areas. After the evaluation, you'll be made comfortable on the treatment table for your first acupuncture treatment. Needles are retained for 25-30 minutes. The entire initial visit takes about 1 to 1.5 hours.

How many treatments will I need?

Acupuncture treatments are cumulative in effect. Acute conditions may respond more quickly and require fewer treatments. Chronic conditions can take longer to see long-lasting results. After your initial intake, your practitioner will provide a treatment plan based on your needs. Many people notice changes immediately, while it may take longer for others.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes! We are in-network providers with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois. We are out-of-network providers for Cigna, Aetna, and United Healthcare. You can verify your insurance through our website or call us, and we'll follow up with your verification details. Discounted packages are also available.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

The best way to prepare is to eat something light before your treatment. Also, wear loose, comfortable clothing so that your arms and legs are easily accessible. This ensures the most comfortable and effective treatment session.
